Dear
Parents, Guardians, and Community Members,
On behalf of the entire J.D. Davis faculty and staff, I extend a
warm welcome to all of our students and their families.
This is my first year as principal of J.D. Davis and I am looking with great
anticipation at the year ahead. We have caring, dedicated staff members who
are committed to ensuring that students are successful as they transition
through what are typically years of great change intellectually, socially,
emotionally and physically for our students. One of my primary goals is to
work with our Davis learning community as we continue on a path of
strengthening inter-locking relationships among school, family and
community. In so doing we will provide students a quality education as we
set high expectations and the means to meet those goals.
There are many ways to contribute to your children's success. Volunteering
for Local School Council, joining and attending Parent Teacher Association
(PTA) meetings, actively participating with parent or school sponsored
events, and serving as a chaperone for a field trip are excellent ways to
become more involved. This school year, we will offer additional workshops
and parent nights in order to create a connection between home and school.
We intend to keep the focus on our students. We know that all
students can learn and achieve at their highest potential. Working in
partnership with you, our students' parents and guardians, we can support
our students on the road to success. Parents you are always welcome to
discuss any concerns or ideas with both me and the entire faculty. Working
together, in partnership, we will make this an amazing, successful year; a
year filled with pride and accomplishments!
Thank you for being a part of the Davis Family. I look forward to working
with you and your children.
Educationally yours,
Mr. Joseph Myles, Principal
